East Goshen Township owns a lovely 55-acre active park located at 1661 Paoli Pike. Facilities at this, the East Goshen Park include the Hicks Pavilion and the Veterans Pavilion, both with small brick barbecues and close access to rest rooms.  You must be an East Goshen resident to reserve a pavilion or any park facility.

Since we have an active population, there are areas in the East Goshen Park for sports such as the baseball, softball and soccer fields; a small multi-use field, a sand volleyball court, six tennis courts and hitting backboard; two full-size basketball courts with additional baskets for shooting around, a well-equipped children activity area, a fitness circuit area and a gazebo.  There is no bicycling, rollerblading or skateboarding permitted on the East Goshen Park walking/jogging trail which is .9 of a mile in length.  Dogs must be kept on a leash in the park and must be under the control of their owner.

We recently opened the East Goshen Amphitheater located across from the Veteran’s Pavilion. It has grass tiered seating and will play host to a Music Festival, Shakespeare theater Production, the Chester County Concert Band, a Park After Dark movie – FROZEN, and an end of Summer Celebration. We encourage those attending Amphitheater events to bring a blanket or folding lawn chairs to comfortably sit and enjoy the various events.

The park has many passive areas for sunbathing, reading, frisbee throwing, etc.  The park is a popular place for walkers and joggers. It has rest room facilities and water fountains. Parking space has been enhanced and all facilities are planned and installed with the idea of maintaining a harmony with nature. The park is superbly maintained by the Public Works Department. The park closes at dusk and drinking alcohol is prohibited.

Two of our three back tennis courts (courts 4, 5, and 6 or the “soft” courts have been closed to due to recent damage caused by a storm. As a result, we are considering resurfacing these courts or re-purposing them for another activity. We are currently seeking public input and appreciate your time in filling out our tennis court survey. Click here to complete the online survey. Please contact Jason Lang at jlang@eastgoshen.org with any questions.

On the other side of Paoli Pike and across from East Goshen park is the beautiful, 100 acre Applebrook Park. Applebrook Park is a passive park which includes three miles of walking/jogging trails.  Rollerblading and bicycling are permitted on the Applebrook’s walking/jogging trail.  There are no organized sporting activities or group picnics permitted in Applebrook Park.  Dogs must be kept on a leash in the park and must be under the control of their owner.  Parking for Applebrook Park is done at the lot adjacent to the Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry.
